Salone del Vino Radici del Sud (Roots of the South), the festival entirely dedicated to the native vines of the South, has come to an end. 67 best wines native of Puglia, Basilicata, Campania, Calabria and Sicily.
"A group of wineries from Puglia, Basilicata, Campania, Calabria welcomed the public - Nicola Campanile, organizer of Radici del Sud, says - to tell and show each other their oenological pearls. In a single day visitors had the opportunity to learn about the local production of the whole Southern Italy. Important were also the BtoB meetings organized among the productive companies and international wine buyers and, for the first time at Radici, the international jury agreed immediately with the national one, proving that the wines of the South are ready to conquer an important role at the global level. Meanwhile, we have also chosen and made public the dates of the ninth edition of the festival which will be held from 4 to 8 June 2014".
To compete there were even 247 labels in 19 categories examined in the blind tasting by the commissions.
