Oscar del Vino 2014: all the awarded

The long–awaited gala night of the edition number 16 of "Oscar del Vino" 2014 took place. Here are all the winners and eminent voices of the evening.

The award ceremony of "Oscar del Vino" 2014 by Bibenda has been a great success, the 20 winners of the 19 categories of the competition (with an ex aequo) were announced and celebrated on 29th May during a gala dinner prepared by the Michelin–starred chef Gianfranco Vissani.

Italian Sommelier Association (FIS) – Bibenda organized also this year "Oscar del Vino", to witness and as a recognition of the work done for wine by women and men of our country and of the rest of the world.


Here is a taste of the winners:

Barolo di Borgogno best red wine; Florio best winery, Prize for the best white wine to the Terlano winery; Special Award for Innovation to Simonit&Sirch; Special Prize of the Jury to VeronaFiere.


The special prize goes to Vinitaly

OSCAR DEL VINO 2014 SPECIAL PRIZE OF THE JURY TO VERONAFIERE FOR VINITALY. Veronafiere is promotion and communication of all–round made ​​in Italy and Vinitaly is the largest wine fair in the world. The award goes then to the idea, the commitment and the professionalism in perseverance, year after year, to offer to lovers and industry operators the richest and most beautiful showcase of Italian wine».


This is the reasonof the special prize awarded to Veronafiere–Vinitaly. Ente Fiera welcomed with enthusiasm the recognition received:

«It is an important recognition – the President of Veronafiere, Ettore Riello, said – that rewards VeronaFiere and the Vinitaly system. A system that supports the growth of the Sector starting from the promotion of wine culture. Our commitment has always been non–partisan, because as a fair we have been supporting, for nearly half a century, the wine production system as a whole. And this is what the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Forestry recognized to us, entrusting Veronafiere and Vinitaly the implementation and management of the Wine Pavilion at Expo Milano 2015 (...). The Italy of wine is facing a new challenge: to create a system around a strategic plan that lays the groundwork for the development of the sector in the coming years. This will be the key to the success of the event and exports in the near future. Expo 2015 is a great opportunity to launch the challenge in international markets and to maintain that leadership that old and new competitors would affect».
