Wine, a heritage of Italian culture that should be available to everyone, from young people to adults, in its many qualities and also in its dangers. This is the mission that ONAV has been pursuing since its founding and which now becomes the central theme of the new projects. From Education and Culture will take it off, in the next autumn, the new courses of approach to wine officially presented in Milan on 9th April. A series of lectures that, for the first time in Italy, will see the collaboration of the Italian Union of the Blind and Visually Impaired and the National Deaf Institute in the organization of the courses through the Italian Sign Language and Braille texts. "A project that ONAV has been studying for a long time" the Chairman Vito Intini highlighted, "that now we are ready to implement. In effect, wine is a passion open to all, which by its nature has no barriers nor boundaries".
Therefore, the press conference on 9th April saw the presence, alongside Vito Intini ONAV Chairman and Pia Donata Berlucchi ONAV Deputy Chairwoman, of Nicola Stilla, Chairman of the Italian Union of the Blind and Visually Impaired of Lombardy and Renzo Corti, regional Chairman of the National Deaf Institute Lombardy. An important meeting, which pointed out how integration is made also thanks to projects like the courses of ONAV of approach to wine, tailored to the needs of the blind, visually impaired and deaf.
In the classes, which will be held throughout the country, in effect, specific tools and learning methods will be used: so, the lessons for the blind and visually impaired will adopt specific texts in Braille, specially prepared, and the deaf can take lessons translated into Italian Sign Language, thanks to the interpreters of the Signs of Integration cooperative. An entirely new educational offer, that underlines the growing attention of ONAV in creating a culture of wine truly open to everyone.
