On Thursday 9 March 2023, the interregional competition Premio OLIO GARDA DOP is back for students of the hotel institutes of the three regions on which the denomination insists: Veneto, Lombardy and Trentino.

The Award, created with the contribution and patronage of the Chamber of Commerce of Brescia , is organized by the Consortium for the protection of Olio Garda DOP in collaboration with the Italian Federation of Chefs , and Pentole Agnelli , with the aim of promoting the symbolic product of the Garda area and its enhancement in the kitchen by young chefs, who represent the future of local food and wine.

The venue for the challenge will be the Pentole Agnelli cooking lab, an innovative educational laboratory inside the company headquarters in Lallio, in the province of Bergamo.

Each school will be represented by a team made up of a teacher, two cooking students who will compose the dish and two students who will serve the jury and explain the preparation and pairings. In fact, not only the use of Garda DOP oil will be evaluated, but also the ability to tell about it and enhance its peculiarities.

In one hour, the students will have to prepare a dish , choosing between an appetizer, first course and second course, using only Garda Dop oil , which must be used both in cooking and raw when presented in the dining room. Furthermore, the dish must be paired with a typical wine of the area to which it belongs, building a real tasting journey.

The proposals of the young chefs will be evaluated by a technical jury made up of qualified professionals in the sector, journalists and food and wine experts, who will decide the winners.

The official award ceremony will be held on Saturday 25 March 2023 at the Agricultural Cooperative of San Felice del Benaco (BS).
