As well as 3,000 are the wines evaluated by 21 committees, 73 are the medals awarded at the VINITALY INTERNATIONAL WINE COMPETITION
The "Vinitaly Nation Award 2014" has been rewarded, too
It was concluded yesterday evening the 21st of Vinitaly International Wine Competition, one of the most respected and selective competitions.
Still wines, bubbly wines and sparkling wines are the three categories of classification of nearly 3,000 samples that came from 30 countries, 21 the evaluation committees chaired by Giuseppe Martelli, General Manager of Assoenologi and chairman of the National Wine Committee of the Ministry of Agriculture.
«The competition is for companies that participate in it an important marketing incentive, not only for the medal winners, less than 3% of the total number of samples for tasting, but also for those who have received a Special Mention. The proximity of the date of the Competition with Vinitaly also promotes the knowledge of the award–winning wines by the professionals from over 120 countries who will be attending the event». These are the words by Giovanni Mantovani, General Manager of VeronaFiere.
The "Grand Vinitaly Award 2014" was attributed to Cavit S.C. – Trento (Italy), which achieved the highest score on the basis of two medals obtained in different groups.
The "Vinitaly Nation Award 2014" for the producers of each country that obtained the highest score calculated by the sum of the assessments of the best three wines awarded with the "Special Mention" diploma, was attributed to the following companies:
– Divino Nordheim Thüngersheim EG – Nordheim–Bayern (Germany)
– Cantine Due Palme Soc. Coop. Agricola – Cellino San Marco (BR) (Italy)
– Murfatlar Romania S.A. – Murfatlar (Romania)
The "Denomination of Origin 2014 Award", rewarded to the wines of each Italian denomination of origin that obtained the overall best score (provided that each denomination of origin participated with at least 40 samples), was attributed to:

The International Wine Competition is organised by Veronafiere, and enjoys the patronage of the
Agriculture and Rural Development Commission of the European Parliament, of the Union Internationale des Oenologues, of the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Forestry and of the Ministry of Economic Development.
