Today, in the hills of the Collio the "Guida Oro I Vini di Veronelli" 2015 has been presented, and the long–awaited "Sole" (Sun) 2015 have been unveiled: the prizes awarded to the 20 wines that captivated the most the editors of the historic publication, Gigi Brozzoni and Daniel Thomases.
The Veronelli Guide is a real milestone in the Italian gastronomic culture, and is an indispensable handbook for professionals and enthusiasts. The "Sole" is the most prestigious award given to the wines that have excited, surprised or delighted the most, in the course of the year, the editors Gigi Brozzoni and Daniel Thomases, beyond the scores obtained in the tasting.
"The Sole 2015, the protagonists of a great tasting, are made by twenty companies as original interpretations of the same number of terroirs. In them, Gigi Brozzoni and Daniel Thomases have captured the tales of places, stories made of land, vines and people which the Veronelli Seminar with this award wants to exploit. Not by chance, these wines have achieved high scores in the tasting: they are, in effect, wines of emotion, bottles Gigi and Daniel are somehow in love with. Therefore, I would like to invite readers to go in search for stories and emotions in every wine that you will have the opportunity to enjoy in the coming months, choosing from the over 15,000 labels reviewed. The surprising discovery of a detail, the actual meeting with a winemaker and its territory, with whom, on a daily basis, "takes care of the land" is always a valuable experience. Because the real value of the Italian agri–food sector lies in social relationships, in spreading skills and, simultaneously, in the unique individuality of each territory", Andrea Bonini, director of the Luigi Veronelli Permanent Seminar, said.
The presentation of the Guide took place in the Collio and the President of the Consortium for the Protection of the Collio Wines, Robert Princic, commented:
"To host the presentation of the Guida Oro I Vini di Veronelli 2015 and thus to become the stage for the delivery of the prestigious Sole 2015 has been a great honor to us. (...). Moreover, this is a special year to us: the Collio Consortium celebrates its first fifty years, confirming to be one of the most important national wine districts, the result of individual experiences and collective events that are distinguished by history and geographical location.
