Nero Buono

It is a grape variety grown in a small area of ​​the Lazio region, in the town of Cori (in the province of Latina) and is one of those varieties forgotten for a long time and only recently rediscovered. Its origins are uncertain, but for sure it was cultivated even in ancient times in this territory, which presents the ideal soil and climate conditions for this variety: a hilly terrain of volcanic origin (the Lepine mountains) and a microclimate characterized by air currents reduce the risk of mildew, to which the vine particularly sensitive. The plant has medium-large, pentagonal and five-lobed leaves, medium, conical, fairly compact bunches and medium-sized grapes, with a rather thick and waxy skin.
