It deals with awhitefruit species of vine from Burgundy and well known throughout France, where grapes are used for the production of the famous Champagne. From France also spread in the Valle D'Aosta, Trentino Alto Adige, Veneto, Friuli Venezia Giulia and Sicily. It is one of the most widely planted vine in the world.
