Aleatico

It is part of the category of aromatic grapes (along with Brachetto, Moscato, Malvasia and Gewurztraminer), rich in primary aromas, with geraniol as characteristic molecule, which gives a clear and fresh note of rose, already present in free form in the fresh grape. When the grapes overripe bound forms predominate instead, which change completely the aromatic features: depending on where the drying takes place. Wether the drying occur in the sun or in shaded and fresh places, rose or red and black fruits in jam and raisin fruits aromas prevail. In raisin wines it is often expressed with intense and rich aroma of raspberry and strawberry, almost of red orange, and in the mouth is very sweet, with balanced tannins and an intriguing fruity note. From the Aleatico vine, under special conditions, interesting dried rosé wines, with notes of rose, inviting and tantalizing hints of strawberry and raspberry and pomegranate juice.
