It was born with the name of Consorzio Tutela Vini Soave and Recioto di Soave and gathers both the production workers and the professional categories interested in the vinification and marketing of wine. With its approximately 500,000 hectoliters of wine, Soave represents the largest slice of the controlled denomination of origin productions in the province of Verona (approximately 40%) in which 10% of the Italian DOC and 50% of the Veneto ones are concentrated. . There is no speculative purpose and it is mainly proposed to take actions in favor of? Soave? and? Recioto di Soave such as: -to protect the viticulture in the production area and to defend the production of the same; - to promote the knowledge and diffusion of these oenological products; - to ensure that products with other grapes or defective or that do not have the characteristics of the protected original wine are not put on the market; - to exercise an efficient surveillance, also in collaboration with the State Bodies, to prevent abuses and fraud with the irregular use of the denominations to be protected; - to defend legitimate collective interests in all offices, including legal ones; - assisting the consortium members in the improvement of the vitivinicultural cultivation of the production of protected wines, ensuring that the production disciplinary is correctly applied in the field.
