Trattoria dei Quattro Leoni, founded in 1550, is located in Piazza della Passera: a corner of the old Florence you would you look on the map in vain.
Tuscan tradition: in May 1995, after the work of renovation and expansion lasted six months and directed by the brilliant architect Saverio Innocenti, the restaurant reopened, maintaining and increasing its already obvious Tuscan style: the old ceilings returned to life, with wooden beams now in view, stone walls, arches of red bricks that emerge from the walls in slaked lime, and floorings of cotto tiles. Even the furnishing reflects the Tuscan tradition: plain and elegant with caned chairs, square tables of marble, bunches of dried flowers, bay leaves hanging on the walls. In the spring, Piazza della Passera is a show: in this season you can eat outdoors under a white tent, surrounded by pots of fragrant laurel and by those workshops that for centuries have been representing the pride of the neighborhood.
A new, genuine hospitality: the current management is by Stefano Di Puccio, well–renowed in the city both for his past as a sportsman and generous character of the historic Florentine Football, and for his skills in the kitchen. His frank presence, friendly and smiling, gives the restaurant a tone of genuine “Florentinity” made of sincere hospitality, attention to detail, care in the preparation of the dishes.
From the large breathtaking terrace you can admire hills covered by generous vineyards and woodlands of the famous “Conca d’Oro” of Chianti enhanced by the green of olive trees and cypresses.
