Trattoria La Rosa

The history that you have just read, obviously results in us serving food with traditions from the territory of Emilia Romagna: Traditional food that follows the specialties that the different seasons offer.

In an era when everything is very fast and borders are crossed with extreme facility, we believe that families like ours need to defend what their traditions have taught them.

We believe that our traditional dishes such as the ones listed hereafter have nothing to envy any of the more modern dishes found in a lot of restaurants today.

Parma ham lightly cooked in vinegar (and finished off with a terrific Olive Oil!), tortellini in chicken and beef broth with hand made pasta, hand made tagliatelle with classical beef ragu, pumpkin tortelloni from Ferrara, superb fried vegetables, “cotoletta alla Bolognese” with mashed potatoes, tagliatelle cake, a creamy icecream made with a traditional recipe.

Trattoria La Chiocciola

A well rooted in our tradition cuisine, with unforgettable dishes based on snails and frogs, but with the willingness and pleasure to offer courses based on fish or meat linked to the market and the season.

Locanda della Tamerice

The restaurant is the very heart of the Tamerice. The international fame of the Chef and owner Igles Corelli, considered one of the masters of Italian author cuisine, made of it a popular destination for gourmets and cooking enthusiasts from all over the world. Modern, eclectic and elegant, it is located in the heart of the Wildlife Oasis of the Ostellato Valleys, on the edge of the area of the Po Delta Park, in the province of Ferrara.

The room has an original and refined style. It
 offers an intimate and friendly atmosphere where unusual and contrasting colors
 reflect the style of the kitchen staff. Intense shades of red, blue, yellow and turquoise emphasize the play of volumes that enliven the space, and a fireplace with modern lines softly accompanies guests on winter evenings.

The restaurant houses a permanent exhibition of ceramic sculptures and pottery by contemporary artists, including Riccardo Biavati and Laura Dal Fiume; the wonderful works of Mario Schifano, Enrico Baj, Salvatore Fiume, Mario Giovanetti, Bob Marongiu and Antonio Saliola characterize the walls.

The tables are livened by the pure colors of the blown glass creations by Simone Cenedese, master of Murano.



The style of the kitchen is a sophisticated and intriguing blend of locally sourced ingredients and the best of those from all over the world, interpreted by the creativity of Igles, a chef known all over the world since he was leading the brigade of "Il Trigabolo" in Argenta, award–winning in food guides as one of the best restaurants in Italy, and recognized protagonist in the exploitation of raw materials of quality of the traditional Italian cuisine.

Antica Trattoria "Volano"

Antica Trattoria "Volano", for over 200 years, has been one of the most important restaurants in Ferrara, cozy and of very ancient traditions, a short walk from the center of Ferrara. It has always succeeded in enchanting its guests thanks to an excellent service and to the typical cuisine of Ferrara, starting from pumpkin Cappellacci made ​as tradition commands, so no ready products, from hand–rolled pastry made as in bygone days, with a stuffing full of scents that are the preamble to an incomparable taste, that is unequaled in the entire Ferrara. Antica Trattoria Volano is located in Ferrara on the left bank of the Po of Volano that goes through the city; in a historic house belonging to the "belle arti"; the kind customers can easily park their cars about 300 meters in the parking lot of the old town. There is also a limited possibility of parking in the immediate vicinity of the venue.

The welcome by the staff is excellent and attentive to the needs of customers, just visit the MENU section, an attentive and careful set of starters, first and second courses and side dishes in the name of the traditional cuisine of Ferrara, that the kitchen staff prepares always with new insights and ideas to satisfy even the most demanding customers.

Zafferano Ristorante

Zafferano is owned by Renzo Geminiani and Stefania Angelini. Renzo, the chef, was born in 1965 in a town in the Veneto Po Delta, while Stefania, front-of-house manager and sommelier, is from Ferrara.



They started out in the restaurant business separately, attending catering school in 1980 and 1983 respectively, whilst spending their summers gaining work experience in various holiday resorts.

After graduating, they each continued to build on their experience working in hotels and restaurants both in Italy and abroad. They finally met at Lake Garda where they both happened to be working and decided to pursue their future together, both professionally and personally.

This took them first to Venice and the Lido, and later to Cortina d'Ampezzo, where Renzo spent several seasons as second chef in the famous resort's most prestigious hotel, while Stefania worked for seven years as chef de rang in another of Cortina's top hotels.

They then decided to go abroad and spent over a year in London, Renzo as chef in a restaurant in the City and Stefania as assistant manager in various restaurants, including a top French restaurant with the coveted three Michelin stars.

Corte dei Gioghi

Only 1200 meters from the ancient walls of Ferrara, the Farmhouse bed and breakfast Corte dei Gioghi is located in one of the most beautiful green areas of the city, just five minutes far from the parking area of the historic center.

The atmosphere that is perceived here is that of a welcoming courtyard that includes an old farmhouse of the nineteenth century, elegantly restored, an opposite dependance with patio overlooking the pool and a surrounding park full of plants and flowers.

If you arrive by car, we are right in the center, in a quiet restricted traffic zone, but you can easily reach us by telling traffic policemen that you have a reservation at the inn. Once there, we have a agreed parking spaces (10 €/24h, on reservation) in a courtyard, inside a private mansion in front of the inn.

On request, we offer a charter taxi service from/to the most important Airports/Cities, at affordable rates.

Being in touch with the Museums of the city, you will find by us the tickets at a reduced price and with preferential entry to major exhibitions at the Palazzo dei Diamanti, curated by Ferrara Arte.

In the heart of Ferrara, a city of art, in a quiet street of the sixteenth century dedicated to the famous painter Francesco del Cossa, there is a wonderful home for those looking for a romantic, customized, attractive and full of charm place, surrounded by a warm atmosphere: D’Elite – Room and Breakfast – Zimmer und Frühstück. Located in the old town, very close to Palazzo dei Diamanti, the Este Castle, the Court.
