La Spianatoia is a typical of Maremma restaurant situated in the main square of the characteristic medieval village of Scansano. Created by the passion for the real Tuscan cuisine of two valuable restaurateurs: Enzo Santini and Loriana Pieri, the owners do their best to guarantee that genuineness of taste so much appreciated and that too often is dominated by modern technology and by the hectic life of all of us.

The restaurant offers a simple and characteristic environment with three cosy dining rooms, warm and welcoming, where you can taste with tranquillity excellent dishes prepared with care and refinement. The two owners, one in the rooms and the other in the kitchen, can delight your palates with outstanding recipes. The kitchen is based on genuine products of the Tuscan Maremma, worked and prepared with care, as the peasant tradition wants. Among them, hand–rolled pasta, with rolling pin and pastry board, game and the typical Chianina meat.
Seasonal dishes of the day are always present: browned snails with Lesser Calamint, pork ground and bacon, tripe, codfish with onions or baked with chickpeas, lamb in white, and hare.
Da Balbo restaurant was founded more than 50 years ago by the passion of the Gottardi family for Tuscan cuisine. According to the owners, the secret of happiness is given by the opportunity to fully enjoy the tastes and the scents of the Tuscan cuisine, which encloses, as well as its language, the soul of our Country. Da Balbo restaurant offers a wonderful view on the Follonica gulf and on the Island of Elba thanks to its two terraces.
The rooms and the terraces can host more or less 140 people, but it is highly recommended to book, especially in summer, as the astonishing landscape attracts many tourists. You can, then, enjoy appetizers of meat (salami, rolls) and of fish (octopus carpaccio, shrimp) which can accompany croutons and bruschetta of unsalted bread.
The pasta dishes of the tradition are fresh pasta seasoned with truffle flakes, Papparedelle with wild boar sauce, soups, cooked water. Main courses of meat and fish, accompanied by side dishes of cooked or raw vegetables, always in season.

Votapentole restaurant is situated in the center of the town, it has a wide room for 18 people and a terrace for 14 people more. The restaurant is simple and elegant. Its kitchen is creative and Massi chooses mostly locally sourced raw materials. In his dishes you realize his love for the Mediterranean cuisine.
Worth to mention is the wine and spirit list looked after by Massi with passion. Monica’s pastry completes the offer.
The gazebo is like a separate restaurant. There are people who prefer the atmosphere of the canvas. They would like to eat outside even in winter. When we have time and quietness, we like having a break in this place, too. A soft sail–like canvas envelopes the gazebo and shelters customers from wind. In this way, Massi and Monica have created an atmosphere which has the same style and elegance of Votapentole restaurant. The combination of materials (the wooden platform, the metal structure with different shapes, the furnishings and the plants) create a perfect atmosphere.
The menu of I Tre Cantoni restaurant includes all the specialities of the Tuscan cuisine, from soups to pasta dishes prepared with fresh pasta, from tasty grilled lamb meats to the most refined beef cuts. Each course is cooked to order and enriched with locally sourced seasonal vegetables.
La Lanterna Bis offers every day, especially at lunchtime, a fixed price menu starting from 12€, which includes two seasonal courses, perhaps based on good fish, wine, water and coffee.
