Opened about twenty years ago as a simple wine shop, thanks to the passion of Mr. Piero Bonacina, Ristorante Enoteca San Nicola is situated in a former convent of the seventeenth century in the heart of the old town of Bobbio.
The kitchen of Marisa Bonacina, daughter of the owners Miriam and Piero, has given a very interesting personal turning point: she often searches for unusual combinations even in the most famous and traditional recipes of the restaurant.
Her husband Davide Gatti, since a few years, follows the winery and the dining room service, along with her mother–in–law. The wine list offers the opportunity to choose between about 900 Italian and foreign labels with many bottles of excellent vintages.
The former main chapel is now home to the real wine shop that offers, only at the weekend, wines in glasses, different types of tea, chocolates and, in summer, cool drinks.
Moreover, since a few years, Enoteca San Nicola can accommodate its customers in some elegantly furnished rooms, all with bath and fireplace.
