The history of the estate of the Rametz Castle began in the far 1227 as a significant possession in the field of viticulture, already mentioned in several documents of the time.
Here, even in the mid nineteenth century, the cultivation of the best vines for the production of Pinot Noir and other noble grape varieties, such as Riesling, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon, began.

the microclimate suited to grape growing and a highly effficace cultivation thanks to the Guyot system, the vineyards of the Rametz Castle are among the most valuable in the area of Merano.
