Despite the great success, the values that guide the company continue to be the ones of bygone days: quality, genuineness, and love in every little gesture, from the cultivation of olives, to harvesting by hand, until the transformation in extra virgin olive oil or in gourmet products such as pate or specialties in oil.
It was stablished in 1895 by the founders: RE_gina and isi_DORO, hence the name REDORO. The company of craft nature remains bound to tradition, but addresses dynamically to market developments. The passion and the secrets to create the REDORO 100% Italian extra virgin olive oil, have been handed down from father to son for over 100 years leading to mid–90s to the transition from local production reality to national and international reality, to bring in every kitchen and on every table in the world the passion, taste and quality of the REDORO experience.
The oil mill dates back to the seventeenth century and was originally operated by mules or horses that turned in circles to turn the two large stone millstones that crush the olives. In the early 1900s it had been modernized with the installation of a steam engine of foreign production which took three days to arrive, pulled by four pairs of oxen. Unique in the whole west side of the Euganean Hills, the oil mill worked for two to three months a year.In early November, farmers arrived from the surrounding villages with their olives, some with ox-drawn cart, others with horse-drawn cart. , who with the wheelbarrow by hand. The current location is an annex of the Villa, where in 1960 the founder, Oreste Barbiero, transferred the business. Today the mill uses two lines, a traditional one with stone millstones and two presses for cold pressing and a more modern one with cold extraction. Currently the son of Oreste 'Paolo Barbiero' with his wife Pierangela manages the business with dedication and respecting tradition. The owned olive groves are divided into two areas: two hectares with 1,000 plants in Monte Brecale and 0.5 hectares with 200 plants in Monte Resino.
