Professional experience:
Since 1998 to date an employee of Cantina di Canneto SCA fraz. Camponoce 27 27044 Canneto Pavese (PV).
The winery vinifies 2,000 tons of grapes (pinot riesling barbera bonarda), produces 1.8 million bottles of which 80% frizzante wine, 10% sparkling wine and the remaining 10% still wine. It works for 95% on the domestic market and the major customers are group Carefour, Coop Italia and Conad.
A 5% of production is placed on the foreign market (United States).
Currently I am carrying out the job of Oenologist with the following tasks: organizational management of the registers of the winery, quality control, ISO 9000, responsible for vinification, aging, secondary fermentation, bottling, for the proper functioning of equipment and systems including maintenance.
I deal with the management of purchasing of ancillary materials and production equipment, of raw materials for the production (wines, musts, concentrated musts, etc.), of the sale of bulk wine surplus (an average of 2,500 hl per year) which allowed me to obtain many relationships with other wineries, both cooperatives and private ones, of various sizes.
Moreover, I follow the negotiations with new clients for both the domestic market and for export aimed at the realization (product specification, packaging and price) of dedicated products, acquiring a fair knowledge with brokers, distributors, buyers and traders in the packaged wine industry.
Since 2012 I have been a member of the board of directors of the Oltrepò Pavese DOC Wines consortium.
From 1996 to 1998 I worked at the The Versa winery with the role of winery technician, responsible for wine making and processing of bulk wine.
Experiences in agriculture
For several decades I have worked in my spare time 4 hectares of family land currently under vine (with the help of my parents) located in the municipality of Pietra de Giorgi (PV), acquiring high skills in the working and management of the vineyard in all its stages, from the constitution of the "barbatelle" cuttings (I planted an hectare of "barbatelle" cuttings produced by me from the graft to the growth in the nursery), to planting, breeding of the vineyard, to various forms of pruning (guyot, casarsa, Silvoz spurie cordon), to canopy management (mechanical and manual), soil management, phytosanitary treatment and harvest, with the aim to minimize costs and maximize yields per hectare to obtain the best profit taking.
I have a good ability to carry out maintenance of agricultural equipment.
Education
University degree in viticulture and oenology obtained in 1996 at the State University of Milan with a score of 70/70 cum laude, member of the Enologi association since 1996.
In 1990 graduated at the State Technical Agricultural Institute of Noverasco Opera (MI) with a score of 52/60, registered in the roll of agricultural experts of the province of Milan Lodi since 1991.
In 1997 I obtained the license for the conduct of steam generators of 3rd degree.
Good knowledge of the English language, written and spoken.
In 2005 I obtained the coach certification level 2 at the Italian Rowing Federation, a sport practiced at a competitive level for 20 years (I am not currently practicing any activity).
Knowledge of the Russian language.
Interpersonal and organizational skills.
Licenses
Driving license B, use of car, van, crawler tractors, loaders, excavators.
