Nestled among the rolling hills of Collio, Gradis'ciutta represents an ideal meeting point between historical roots and contemporary vision, a place where wine becomes an authentic expression of culture and territory. On Friday 22 November 2024 , at 6:00 pm , the evocative Borgo Gradis'ciutta (località Gradisciutta 14, Gorizia) will transform into a space dedicated to history and knowledge, hosting the presentation of the book " Piccola e buona storia della viticoltura ". Written by two of the most famous viticulture scholars at an international level, Angelo Costacurta and Antonio Calò , the volume recounts with precision and passion the evolution of the vine and wine , intertwining science, tradition and culture. " Welcoming events of this type allows us to enhance the deep bond between wine and culture. I always like to reiterate that Gradis'ciutta is not just a winery, but a place where the past dialogues with the contemporary, creating experiences that go beyond the glass. This literary meeting represents a great opportunity to reflect on what wine has represented and still represents today for our communities ,” says Robert Princic , owner of the winery. Published in the "Grado Babo" series, the work is an invitation to retrace the fundamental stages of viticulture, from the ancient Caucasian origins to the current excellence of the Italian panorama. The pages unfold through historical and social moments that have shaped the world of wine, offering a unique perspective on a priceless heritage. The volume is enriched with color photographs and insights, making it a precious tool for those who want to approach the history of the vine with a popular but accurate look. The authors Angelo Costacurta and Antonio Calò will take the public on a fascinating journey through time .
Costacurta , researcher at the Ministry of Agriculture and vice president of the Italian Academy of Vine and Wine, is a viticulture expert with an important scientific and historical contribution. Calò , past president of the same Academy and member of the Accademia dei Georgofili, is an internationally recognized authority, with hundreds of publications and prestigious positions. The event will offer a unique opportunity for dialogue and discussion with the authors , allowing participants to discover how viticulture has shaped entire civilizations and profoundly influenced the relationship with the territory. Thanks to the collaboration with the publisher, at the end of the presentation it will be possible to purchase copies of the book. This event is part of the calendar of cultural initiatives organized by Gradis'ciutta, which continues to stand out for its ability to create moments in which wine becomes a vehicle of knowledge, dialogue and inspiration.
