Orecchiette in the 'nchiosce 2023, the great party of the Apulian 'queen' is underway

Orecchiette for all tastes and in all sauces: those with chickpeas and gluten-free bean purée, with salicornia, with Faeto ham, with Taranto mussels up to the traditional ones with turnips.

These are some of the delicious recipes that will be proposed by the 26 chefs featured in the ninth edition of “Orecchiette nelle 'nchiosce – on the road”, the great food and wine event in Grottaglie, in the Tarantino area which will be held on Tuesday 8 and Wednesday 9 August.

This year's event will be dedicated to the Unione Cuochi Regione Puglia Lady Chef. The cooks, in nine stations, will present their delicious and original recipes by interpreting the queen of Apulian tables, the orecchietta. In two evenings it will be possible to taste pasta in various recipes, in a journey of taste that will range from tradition to the most recent reinterpretations.

The famous Ceramics District, with its numerous artisan shops, and the ancient part of Grottaglie, with its white alleys called 'nchiosce, will be transformed into a gastronomic itinerary, between ancient flavors and contemporary innovations. It will then be the cellars and craft breweries of Puglia that will exalt the mastery of the chefs and, therefore, with a map in one hand and a glass in the other, we will go on a discovery of the various stands. There will be five wine cellars and four craft breweries.

Those who are not satisfied with just eating, but also want to get "hands-on", will find a workshop to learn how to prepare orecchiette by hand. Unmissable will be the street artists, DJ sets and musical groups who will happily entertain the general public. "Radio orecchiette" will also be back, with piped music and voices of experience on a national level. The evenings will close with a great concert,

There will be two evenings dedicated to taste and fun in one of the most beautiful historical centers of Tarantino, between the hinterland and the sea.

The route will wind along via Crispi, via La Pesa, via San Francesco, via San Nicola, via D'Alessandro and via Umberto I.

Orecchiette nelle 'nchiosce – on the road is organized by the Le idee non manca Aps association, led by Cosimo Sanarica, with the sponsorship of the Municipality of Grottaglie and the collaboration of Slow Food Grottaglie Vigne e Ceramiche. There will be two days of celebration, taste and entertainment, but there will also be a social reflection message. In fact, the Alzaia non-profit association is taking part in the initiative, which also promotes initiatives against violence against women in Grottaglie and supports the anti-violence centre, in collaboration with the councilor for social policies of the municipality.
