Mosnel of Franciacorta: Massimo Zanichelli signs a cinematic journey into the reality of Mosnel

Mosnel , the historic company from Camignone (Brescia), celebrates its heritage and tradition with the film Mosnel di Franciacorta , written and directed by the journalist and documentary maker Massimo Zanichelli . The film offers an exciting journey down memory lane, recalling the figure of Emanuela Barzanò Barboglio , pioneer of the Franciacorta area and mother of the current owners Giulio and Lucia Barzanò , and above all in the present of the company, showing in a poetic key the work in the countryside and in cellar during the succession of seasons.

The documentary was previewed on two dates: on June 5th in a context of rare beauty, among the rows of the vineyard that gives its name to the company ; on June 6th at the Anteo Palazzo del Cinema in Milan . During the first screening the public was able to see the longer version of the documentary, while the following day a more concise and personal version was presented which has the second title An eternal effervescence and which offers a more universal vision of everything that the name Mosnel represents.

“We strongly wanted to tell our story and daily life in the company, in the alternation of the seasons and the processes that create the magic of Franciacorta – declare Lucia and Giulio Barzanò –. A profession that is repeated from year to year the same, but in reality always different, and it is precisely the passage of time that makes our wines unique".

“Contrasts play an essential role in wine as in cinema – continues director Massimo Zanichelli –. Exploring the entire production cycle, from the countryside to the bottle, I filmed the contrast between the busiest exteriors (the work in the vineyards) and the more intimate and silent interiors (the parallel activities in the winemaking cellars, in the barrel rooms, in the tasting), between aerial shots and long shots dedicated to the landscape and all the details of nature investigated with macro optics that reveal, from insects to bubbles, a world invisible to the human eye”. At the center of everything is time: that of the weather and the seasons (the sky with its clouds is one of the protagonists), that of lives and what Mosnel wines need to become harmonious, elegant and long-lived Franciacortas, known for reach the pinnacle of their expression after long refinements.

Both versions of the documentary film Mosnel di Franciacorta will be distributed online, the longer one starting from June 10th while the shorter one will be available from July 10th, offering wine enthusiasts and cinephiles the opportunity to immerse themselves in the history of one of the most important wine producers in Franciacorta.
