From Lake Garda, passing through the main Italian cities, and back: the journey that took Lugana "on Tour" in the first part of 2023 to some of the most beautiful places in the boot ends tomorrow in Florence: Venice, Rome, Milan and, therefore, Florence.
A real food and wine tour that has exalted the characteristics and peculiarities of the DOC of Lake Garda and its 5 styles, combined, in some stages, with the dishes of starred chefs among the most important in Italy.
The tour will end tomorrow evening in the magical setting of La Ménagère in Florence . An evening is scheduled to celebrate the pleasures of wine in an exceptional location, where the scents of flowers, in perfect harmony with those of Lugana, will transport the participants on a wine journey full of taste and emotion.
The Lugana food and wine tour began in January with a stop in Venice , where the Garda wine landed to participate in the first edition of Wine in Venice . The exclusive event, in which the lagoon city was the wine center of the Belpaese from 28 to 30 January 2023 , hosted the first " Red Carpet of wine" within the evocative setting of the historic and prestigious building of the Scuola Grande della Misericordia .
The second stage saw the Eternal City as the protagonist. On April 18, in the exclusive Villa Laetitia Fendi, a selected group of guests (including institutions and journalists) was guided in the discovery of Lugana and its different styles by the journalist Fabio Piccoli and by the producers themselves. To follow, a gourmet aperitif made by the starred catering of the Enoteca La Torre , with refined dishes and in combination with the wines of the appellation.
Finally, at the headquarters of Identità Golose in Milan , on 18 May it was the turn of a culinary experience hand in glove with the Venice lagoon and Lake Garda, in the company of the starry chef from Venissa Chiara Pavan , who for the occasion he has created an author's menu highlighting the link between two lands of water and Lugana wine.
“This tour was an opportunity to introduce the Lugana DOC and its peculiarities to the public of Italian connoisseurs, journalists and wine lovers . 70% of Lugana production is exported around the world, but one of the Consortium's intentions is to make Lugana even more appreciated and known on the Italian market as well. The key objective of the promotion is to constantly support the growth of the value of our appellation. This also applies to the national market which we continue to consider strategic, starting with that of the production area, which represents one of the most important tourist areas of our country” explained Edoardo Peduto, director of the Lugana DOC Consortium.
