Cru del Montebaldo marries the flavors of autumn in the San Zeno Castagne, Bardolino & Monte Veronese review

In San Zeno di Montagna until 7 November four tasting menus paired with the wine of the higher-altitude Bardolino "district"

Montebaldo , the Bardolino "cru" born at the foot of the mountain massif of the same name, will be the official wine of the 24th edition of San Zeno Castagne, Bardolino & Monte Veronese , the festival dedicated to the autumn flavors of the Montebaldino territory , scheduled until November 7 in San Zeno di Montagna (Verona) , a town on Mount Baldo overlooking Lake Garda and a land of millenary chestnut cultivation. The initiative, commissioned by the San Zeno Restaurants Association together with the Bardolino Protection Consortium and the Monte Veronese PDO Cheese Consortium, involves four restaurants (Al Cacciatore, Bellavista, Costabella, and Taverna Kus), which for a whole month will offer entire tasting menu with dishes with autumnal ingredients paired with Montebaldo, the wine that is born in the innermost and highest altitude of the three "districts" of Bardolino, the one where the higher altitudes and the cool climate give aromas of strawberries and cloves that perfectly match with seasonal dishes from the territory of origin. Among the proposals of the review, dishes such as polenta with chestnut flour, chanterelles, flakes of Monte Veronese and roe deer salami prepared by the Ristorante al Cacciatore, chestnut soup in the ancient grain loaf of the Bellavista restaurant, chestnut gnocchi with ragù of venison prepared by the Costabella Restaurant or the duck breast marinated in orange and cooked at low temperature with Marroni di San Zeno PDO flan and red Verona radicchio from Taverna Kus. For those wishing to cook the traditional local recipe of chestnut soup at home, a special ebook can be downloaded online on the Consorzio del Bardolino website. San Zeno di Montagna is the first of the events that will be organized throughout the territory to promote the "new" Bardolino of the "districts" Montebaldo, La Rocca and Sommacampagna , recognized by the production regulations published in the Official Gazette on 12 April and already identified by wine merchants in 1825. It will still be possible to taste the first releases of all three Bardolinesi "crus" during Vinitaly Special Edition , from 17 to 19 October in Verona, where the Consortium will be present with its own stand inside the pavilion of the Veneto Region, and to God Save The Wine , an event scheduled for November 4 in Rome. The complete menus of San Zeno Castagne, Bardolino & Monte Veronese are available on the website www.ristosanzeno.it. The review is sponsored by the Municipality of San Zeno di Montagna and takes place in collaboration with Banco BPM.
