The Turin Wine Fair is underway and reaches its second edition from Saturday 2nd to Monday 4th March within two exhibition spaces where the public will be able to meet historic wineries and young Piedmontese winemakers : the OGR Turin and the National Museum of the Risorgimento Italian . After week of OFF events spread throughout the city, organized from 27 February to 1 March, the long weekend is starting which will see producers, consortia and regional wine shops as protagonists and during which you can taste the wines of over 350 wineries .
A great edition, therefore, which this year between the weekend exhibition and the program of the OFF Salon which has just come to an end, has around 500 wineries involved and a program with over 100 appointments : masterclasses, tastings, large dinners, meetings, widespread events and talks dedicated to all wine lovers and expressed through tradition and innovation , culture , sustainability, music and literature .
The mission of the 2024 Turin Wine Show is in fact to tell the story of Piedmont wine in all its facets and typical features, to discover the deep roots of a territory capable of looking to the future, through the magnifying glass of sustainability. A three-day journey that narrates the terroirs , with the aim of enhancing the great diversity and wine-growing richness of Piedmont.
“ The 2024 edition of the Turin Wine Show will be an authentic and engaging experience: we will have the opportunity to come into direct contact with wineries from across our region, with young producers and companies of excellence, savoring wine in a context that goes beyond tasting. We will reconstruct and restore a homogeneous and articulated cross-section of our territory ", explains Patrizio Anisio, Director of the Turin Wine Show .
The 2024 Turin Wine Fair is organized by KLUG APS with the patronage and support of the City of Turin, the Turin Chamber of Commerce, Unioncamere Piemonte, Turismo Torino and the Province ; with the patronage of the Piedmont Region, Metropolitan City of Turin ; with the contribution of the CRT Foundation and with the participation and collaboration of the Autonomous Region of Valle d'Aosta, the Valle d'Aosta Chamber of Businesses and Professions, Ascom Confcommercio Torino and Confesercenti of Turin and its Province .
THE SCIENTIFIC COMMITTEE OF THE TURIN WINE FAIR
The program of the second edition investigates and promotes environmental, economic and social sustainability, also thanks to the newly created scientific committee. The latter is made up of Luca Giorgio Carlo Rolle , full professor of Food Technologies at the Department of Agricultural, Forestry and Food Sciences of the University of Turin; Paolo Sabbatini , full professor of Viticulture at the University of Turin in the Department of Agricultural, Forestry and Food Sciences; Paolo Marco Tamborrini professor in Design (ICAR/13) at the Department of Engineering and Architecture (DIA) of the University of Parma (UNIPR); Eleonora Fiore , professor and researcher in Design (ICAR/13) at the Department of Engineering and Architecture (DIA) of the University of Parma (UNIPR); Giovanni Peira associate professor at the Department of Management of the University of Turin; Alessandro Bonadonna , PhD in Culture and Business and associate professor at the Department of Management of the University of Turin as well as Egidio Dansero full professor of economic-political geography at the University of Turin and deputy vice-rector for sustainability and development cooperation development, which coordinates the Italian network of local food policies and the Food Atlas of metropolitan Turin. Thus was born a path of analysis and research not only on the Show but on the entire supply chain , also in collaboration with the “Valter Cantino” Department of Management of the University of Turin and the Department of Agricultural, Forestry and Food Sciences .
“ The approach to organizing the event was guided by the philosophy of the design system, trying to minimize environmental impact and promoting sustainable practices, underlines Luca Spadon , president of the KLUG Association. The cultural programming analyzes the challenges and opportunities of the present, ranging from gender equality to social inclusion, from the promotion of culture and art to corporate social responsibility, examining the challenges of climate change and examining scientific research and technological innovations. ”
THE HEART OF THE TURIN WINE FAIR 2024
The second edition of the Turin Wine Fair comes to life on Saturday 2nd and Sunday 3rd March , with a packed weekend of wine exhibition dedicated to the general public, which will be hosted between the OGR Turin and the National Museum of the Italian Risorgimento .
It continues on Monday 4 March, in the same locations, with the day dedicated to professional operators.
A great novelty of this 2024 edition will also be the involvement of a guest region : the Aosta Valley which, together with the Valle d'Aosta Wine Consortium , its wine cellars and its great spirits , will give the general public the opportunity to get to know an area rich in history and traditions.
TWO LOCATIONS: OGR TURIN AND NATIONAL MUSEUM OF THE RISORGimento ITALIANO
At the National Museum of the Italian Risorgimento you can taste a selection of wineries from all over Piedmont . The Chamber of the Italian Chamber will be dedicated to the artisan cellars and the cellars of the Organic Wines Association and the Cocconato Consortium , with a section of national and international representation curated by the Turin Wine Week, in addition to the historic Piedmontese wine excellences .
Remaining inside the Museum, you will also be able to taste a selection of Piedmontese Vermouths and, every day in Sala Plebiscito , 4 free masterclasses are scheduled for the Salon public , among others Spirito Agricolo Ballarin, Cascina Rüral, Le Viti, Cascina Corte , to deepen the knowledge and commitment of the wineries aimed at protecting traditions and environmental sustainability.
At the OGR Turin , it will be possible to meet the consortia and protection and promotion associations , the regional wine shops and the hundreds of wineries photographing Piedmont, to which will be added those guests therefore coming from the Valle d'Aosta Region , as well as the grappas and spirits .
The main stage of the OGR Turin will feature 11 talks aimed at analyzing current issues and its challenges , new scientific research and the preview presentation of new paths of study and valorisation of wine .
Also in the Snodo spaces the public will be able to participate in tastings and 4 free and non-free masterclasses , to broaden their knowledge of the world of wine in Piedmont.
Strada del Barolo and great wines of the Langa will delve into the crus and vintages of the king of wines, Barolo , while Fisar Torino will guide us to discover the great wines of the Aosta Valley , while with the Regional Enoteca of Roero we will explore the great wines of this area. Thanks to Onav Torino we will discover the Ovada DOCG , and again with Ais Piemonte the great Piedmontese bubbles, together with the Alta Langa Consortium. And then again the heroic wines of the Moscato sorì , the wines of Val Susa , the great freesias with the Chieri Freisa Consortium , the grappas with the Piedmont Grappa Protection Consortium and Barolo grappa and the ANAG national association of grappa tasters .
