The Consorzio Tutela Vini DOC Colli Del Trasimeno at the 12th edition of Corciano Castello Di Vino

From Friday 4 to Sunday 6 October 2024 the cellars of the Consorzio Tutela Vini Doc Colli del Trasimeno will gather in the medieval village of Corciano (Perugia) for the twelfth edition of Corciano Castello di Vino . The event, organized by the association of the same name with the collaboration of the Consortium, celebrates local wine traditions every year and contributes to the recovery and restoration of the artistic works of the small town.

Every year the food and wine event attracts a large audience to Corciano, made up of both residents and tourists, involved in a traveling tasting featuring wines from the Trasimeno Gamay variety and other native and traditional grapes . The tasting stands will be set up in cellars, basements and other rooms made available by the inhabitants of the village, while the gastronomic offer will be divided between local street food stands and the Taverna del Duca, which for the occasion will prepare a 'wide choice of traditional Umbrian dishes.

Access to the stands is available every day starting from 6.00 pm. Corciano Castello di Vino is also made possible thanks to the support of the Umbria Region as it falls within an area of ​​the plan for the valorization of quality regional wines, in collaboration with UmbriaTop Wines (CSR Umbria 2023-2027 Intervention SRG10 “Promotion of quality products ”).

Consortium for the Protection of DOC Colli del Trasimeno Wines | In January 1997 the Consortium was born, which today brings together sixteen companies, with the aim of allowing members to work in synergy to enhance the controlled designation of origin productions of the area around Lake Trasimeno, encouraging their certification. The production area of ​​the Trasimeno DOC includes the entire municipalities of Castiglione del Lago, Magione, Paciano, Panicale, Passignano sul Trasimeno and Tuoro sul Trasimeno and part of the municipalities of Città della Pieve, Corciano, Perugia and Piegaro. The Consortium's activity is aimed at valorising the productions historically present in the area: Trasimeno Gamay and Sangiovese for the reds, Grechetto for the whites.
