Gustus – Vini e Sapori di Vicenza returns on Saturday 5 and Sunday 6 October at the “Arrigo Pedrollo” Conservatory of Music in Vicenza. The event dedicated to the three DOCs - Colli Berici, Vicenza and Gambellara - reaches its fourteenth edition this year and is enriched with an opening conference and two WineLabs. The tasting stands, however, will always be open to the public from 5pm to 10pm on Saturdays and from 5pm to 9pm on Sundays and will involve more than 30 wineries , offering a selection of over 100 labels .
During the two days, guests will be able to discover what lies behind each glass, the stories, philosophy and style of each producer, appreciating the interpretations proposed by the three denominations. Ample space for wines from native vines such as Tai Rosso and Garganega, for white Pinot Grigio and Sauvignon and for great Bordeaux based on Cabernet, Merlot and Carménère. The tasting experience is enlivened by musical accompaniment by the Conservatory students.
Gustus 2024 will offer insights into the Berici Hills and Gambellara through two WineLabs . The first red Tai, contemporary harmonies tasting will take place on Saturday 5 October at 6pm . The event will be hosted by Simon Staffler , Italian editorial manager for the Falstaff magazine, who will guide the participants in the discovery of a Tai Rosso capable of proving to be fresh and current. The WineLab is scheduled for Sunday 6th at 6.00 pm Volcanic effervescences of Gambellara. From mosso to Classic Method , which will bring the different expressions of the Garganega vine in the Vicenza area to the tasting.
New to the next edition is the conference In search of balance: the climate challenges in the Berici Hills which will be held at the opening of the event, on Saturday at 4.00 pm: a round table to give a complete picture of the consequences of climate change and the strategies that can be adopted to counter it.
This year too, Gustus reiterates its charitable purpose: a part of the proceeds will be allocated to the restoration of "The Crucifixion", a fresco by the Vicenza painter Giovanni Vajenti Speranza kept by the "Arrigo Pedrollo" Conservatory.
