The Wine Fair – held at Piacenza Expo from 16 to 18 November 2024 – closes with a positive sign , bringing home 10% of visitors in the three days . A growing figure linked to the presence of many enthusiasts, in particular on Saturday 16th, but also of operators especially from northern and central Italy who visited the pavilions mainly on Monday 18th, dedicated to them. An attentive and curious public, guided by the desire to dialogue with the over 200 winemakers present, mostly small producers, coming from all the regions of Italy but also from France, Austria and Slovenia. The selection of participating companies was highly appreciated - with a strong presence of organic producers - which brought to the market exhibition the passion and love in producing high quality wines.
“We conceived this trade fair with a firm belief in the restart of the wine sector , despite the uncertainties that are affecting it,” says Sergio Copelli , General Coordinator of Piacenza Expo. “The numbers from the recently concluded edition are proving us right: participating in trade fairs is a valid tool capable of providing new opportunities for relationships and promotion to producers who choose to join.”
Great success for the numerous activities organized in the various spaces. Call to the territory and wine tourism were among the protagonists of the four masterclasses dedicated to wines as well as the area curated by the GAL del Ducato – Local Action Group where the white truffle from this part of Emilia recorded excellent sales volumes. Also complete was the tasting on Monday 18th with extra virgin olive oil as the protagonist where Luigi Caricato , writer, journalist and director of the Olio Officina magazine, guided the participants to the discovery of seven different interpretations of the green gold , in a journey through the proposals from different territories of the Belpaese. Good sales volumes also for the oil producers who enriched the fair with their excellence.
Finally, the mixology area completed the offer by attracting a young and dynamic target that also benefited the winemakers, helping to bring this age group closer to a deeper knowledge of the world of wine, stimulating their curiosity and interest in an engaging context.
“This year, the management of the event was particularly appreciated , both by visitors and exhibitors, the result of an organization that has been well -established over many years of fairs in our spaces, which in the 2024 edition has been enriched with a more convenient ice service and a new layout for territorial areas within the pavilions – says Alessandra Bottani , event manager –. The positive feedback encourages us to always do better , and for this very reason we are already working on national and international projects in view of the next edition. What we want is to grow the event to place it increasingly at the top of the Italian wine scene, while continuing to pursue an idea of a comfortable and human-sized fair where you can find a family welcome and a pleasant visit”.
See you at the 2025 Wine Fair from 15 to 17 November at Piacenza Expo.
