Trentino, from 6th to 8th September La Vigna Ottima returns

This year the event's calendar, as always packed with initiatives and events, is enriched with some interesting new features: the blind tasting of Marzemino, a truly unique train excursion, as well as visits and guided tours in special places.

A weekend immersed in the atmosphere of Isera , the Wine City of Vallagarina, ready to celebrate “its” Marzemino, the red grape variety symbol of the valley south of Trento that follows the course of the Adige, where it arrived in the distant 16th century . From 6 to 8 September this will be the setting for “ La Vigna Ottima…ed è subito Isera ”. A special occasion to live a unique experience: three days of tastings and gastronomic events, guided tours, walks and excursions in the village and among the surrounding vineyards and woods.

The 23rd edition of the event is organized, as always, by the Municipality of Isera thanks to the support of APT Rovereto and Vallagarina and the collaboration of the Strada del Vino e dei Sapori del Trentino.

Scrolling through the calendar, some new features stand out. Starting with the blind tasting of several Marzemino references entitled “Ottagono delle meraviglie”: not a classic frontal masterclass, but a moment of meeting and discussion designed to stimulate the interventions of all participants. Another new entry is the Sunday train to the Tenuta di Fojaneghe , a unique opportunity for a truly special visit. Speaking of visits, also mark the one to the Villa Romana in the guided tour “ Tra vini e palazzi nascosto ” in the center of Isera.

There is also a reference to the La Vigna Ottima award, the only recognition in the world dedicated not to a wine, but to a vine that, being biennial, will take place in 2025. A tour of the vineyards awarded during the last editions is planned to allow participants to admire up close and touch the care that the winemakers dedicate to the management of the precious rows: a hard commitment that translates not only into excellent wines, but also contributes to making the entire landscape of the valley enchanting.

And also the appointments and events that have now become part of the tradition of the event: the much-loved Georgian dinner dedicated to the places of origin of Marzemino, the food and wine trail “Vallagarina di cucina in cantina” on Saturday 7 September which will alternate tastings and engaging theatrical sketches, the appointment with the young grape harvesters , the wine train between the hamlets of Isera , the morning concert with tasting and breakfast , up to the final party in the square.

During the event, the “ Isera con gusto ” award will also be presented, now in its second edition. The award aims to valorize the almost thirty companies linked to the food and wine of the territory – really numerous for a center that has about 3,000 inhabitants – that contribute, with their commitment also in the environmental and social fields, to spread the name of Isera outside the borders of the territory. Not only wineries, restaurants and accommodations, but also decidedly curious realities that offer the opportunity to discover a truly hidden Isera
