FONDAZIONE MONFERRATO ON STAGE PRESENT AT THE BARBERA D'ASTI WINE FESTIVAL WITH MUSICAL EVENINGS AND EXCELLENT GASTRONOMIC PROPOSALS

Consorzio Barbera D'Asti and Vini del Monferrato, present at the first edition of the Barbera D'Asti Wine Festival.

Thanks to the opportunity offered by the Barbera d'Asti and Monferrato Wines Consortium , the Monferrato On Stage project will be present from 6 to 15 September in Asti in Piazza Cairoli , with a food area organized and managed by the Monferrato On Stage Foundation in collaboration with “ Monferrato Rural Food ”, the Monferrato kitchen brigade born in collaboration with the Pro Loco of the area , following the experience of collaboration with Federico Francesco Ferrero ( Doctor Chef ) and the food maker Anna Blasco . This new identity made up of cooking enthusiasts belonging to different Pro Loco who together have formed a real kitchen team, will propose traditional Monferrato dishes, partly classic and partly revisited, in collaboration with some Pro Loco members of the MOS circuit. “ We are very pleased to be able to collaborate again with Monferrato On Stage, of which we are already partners during all the summer musical events, in this first edition of the Barbera D'Asti Wine Festival. declares Vitaliano Maccario, President of the Barbera d'Asti e Vini del Monferrato Consortium - Creating synergies between various entities to promote and communicate the Monferrato area is one of our strengths and future objectives."

The Kitchen

The Carpione , present on all days, will have the typicality of preserving the imprint and typical characteristics of preparation, of the various pro loco involved. Raw Meat in collaboration with ARAP (Piedmontese Bovine Breeders Association) , and a selection of cheeses strictly from Monferrato. There will be, from 11 to 15 September , preparations based on anchovies , which in compliance with the cardinal principle of the Monferrato On Stage project, namely the synergy between territories, will come from the mountains of Val Maira. From these places, since the dawn of time, the anchovy sellers "ANCHOIER" of the Occitan valleys, in a wandering and cross-border dimension, brought the silver fish from the sea to the markets first of Piedmont and then of all of northern Italy, thus allowing the birth of perhaps the most identifying Piedmontese dish, namely " Bagna Caòda ". The black summer truffle will also be present in the dishes offered. A product that has belonged to our land and our gastronomic culture for centuries. The other cornerstone on which the Monferrato On Stage project was founded could not be missing from the Fondazionemos activity, namely the music and concerts part. There will therefore be two musical moments offered to the public: Wednesday 11 September at 9.00 pm - courtyard of Palazzo Alfieri

Sergio Berardo presents “LA ǪUIMERA”

Journey into Occitan folk music in collaboration with the LOU DALFIN cultural association . A concert with great historical and non-random identity content. A narrative and musical journey closely linked to the tradition and folklore of the Occitan valleys. A border territory that has built an ancient survival model on anchovies, allowing Piedmont to give life to its most identifying dish on a raw material belonging to another territory. Tangible testimony that the best creations in cooking as well as in music, almost always arise from the contamination of cultures, uses and customs contained therein. No one better than Sergio Berardo , historic leader of Lou Dalfin and greatest expert in Occitan music that is synonymous with identity of those valleys, could have better conveyed the message of territorial contamination. The history of a unique people, Piedmontese and Ligurian, located on two different sides of the same mountains, and the popular music that has its roots in the border areas of the Cuneo valleys.
