Italian Wine Rosè Schiava

Description of the wine: The Schiava grape variety, of red grapes, is grown mainly in Trentino, in Alto Adige, and in the provinces of Brescia and Verona. The most famous wines produced with the grapes of this variety are: Alto Adige Santa Maddalena, Caldaro, Schiava dell'Alto Adige. Organoleptic characteristics: The wines produced from the Schiava grapes have generally a color ranging from light ruby ​​red to intense ruby ​​red. They have a characteristic vinous aroma and in the mouth they are fruity, velvety, with an aftertaste of bitter mandolra. Historical-cultural infos and curiosities: Schiava is a grape variety of ancient origins. Its name derives from the particular methods of cultivation of grapes, though until today a common agreement on what the technique was has not been achieved: for some people it consisted in tying the vines to a pillar, for someone else it consisted in pruning vines drastically in order to produce wines of high quality. Serving suggestions: These wines are excellent with typical dishes of the Tyrolean cuisine. It also goes well with salami and cheese.
