Historical-cultural infos and curiosities: Over the centuries, the wine produced in Puglia was used primarily for blending, as it had a remarkable degree of alcohol. In the seventies, with the achievement of the DOC, the orientation towards quality began. Serving suggestions: It goes well with important and tasty dishes, such as spicy or mature cheese, salami, red meats or first courses with meat sauces and soups. Production area: Province of Taranto and Brindisi. Grape varieties allowed for its production: Primitivo (minimum 85%). Grapes from non-aromatic black berry vineyards, suitable for cultivation in the provinces of Taranto and Brindisi, up to a maximum of 15% (alone or jointly), can contribute to the production.
