Vermentino

It is an aromatic vine arrived in Italy in the 14th century. It is now the emblem, together with Cannonau, of the Sardinian wine production. Moreover, it is cultivated in Liguria, Tuscany and many French regions. Only in recent years, oenologists have worked to produce a Vermentino vinified in order to make it more fruity and pleasant, anticipating also the harvest. Wines made from Vermentino are dry but gently soft white wines, with an intense bouquet of wild flowers and a pale yellow colour. They can be combined with appetizers of fish and many Ligurian dishes.
