Verdicchio

The name of the grape comes from the typical colour the berry, which keeps obvious shades of green even when fully ripe. It is the main white grape cultivated in the Marche region and the earliest evidence of its cultivation date back to the sixteenth century, though it is universally known only since the 60s. It has a pale yellow color, a delicate scent and has a fresh, pleasant flavour, with a bitter aftertaste. Verdicchio can be paired very well to many dishes of the Mediterranean cuisine.
