Oenology is the science that studies wine and its production. Oenology covers every aspect of the winemaking process, from pressing, squeezing and fermentation, to bottling and aging of wine. The name derives from the Greek "oinos" (wine) and "logos" (study). A person who practices oenology is called oenologist.
