The grape variety is grown also in California, where for decades it has been erroneously confused with Pinot Blanc.
It is a white grape variety used in France to make the Moscadet. The vine is known especially for its high productivity and resistance also to the coldest climates. It produces a mild and dry white wine that is neither acidic nor particularly rich in flavour.
