It is a red grape native of Burgundy cultivated, in Italy, in the Aosta Valley, Friuli and Piedmont. From this grape a red ruby wine that is characterized at the palate for its freshness and its fruity taste; moreover, it is very tannic and with low alcohol content. It is used for the production of Beaujolais.
