Brunello

Together with Barolo it is the Italian red wine with greater longevity. Brunello di Montalcino is a variety of the Sangiovese Grosso red grape variety, grown in the province of Siena in Tuscany. Brunello before being consumed must spend a period of at least two years of aging in oak barrels or at least 4 months in bottle; if preserved in the right way, Brunello can be consumed even more than thirty years after bottling. Among its most important organoleptic characteristics: a ruby red colour (similar to that of Chianti), a dry, tannic and persistent on your palate taste, and a very distinctive and intense aroma.
